Description

The Macallan 15 year old Colour Collection is a distinguished single malt whisky matured in both American and European oak casks, seasoned with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. This edition is part of The Macallan's Colour Collection, a series that highlights natural colour and sherry seasoning, and is available exclusively in duty-free retail stores at international airports.

The bottle's design features the artwork of David Carson, known for his unique use of sliced and ripped forms and typography. This design element adds a distinctive layer to the Collection, aligning with its emphasis on natural hues influenced by the whisky’s maturation process.

The influence of terroir is evident from Jerez de la Frontera, a region renowned for its vineyards and sherry wines. Situated near the Atlantic Ocean, the region's climate and geography play a crucial role in seasoning the oak casks used for maturation, contributing to the natural color and complexity of the whisky.

Macallan

Macallan Single Malt is a well sought-after whisky by collectors and connoisseurs alike. Old bottlings, rare bottlings, and limited-edition bottlings of Macallan regularly achieve top prices at auctions.

Founded by Alexander Reid, The Macallan began as one of the first legally licensed distilleries. It has a strong reputation for its luxurious sherried single malts and has undergone several expansions to meet global demand.

Macallan was bought by Highland Distillers in 1996, who in turn were taken over by the Edrington Group in 1999, Macallan is now integrated with the Robertson Trust who own the Edrington Group.
