Description
The first release in Dalmore's Luminary collection, this expression is a 15 Year Old single malt created in collaboration with V&A Dundee at Scotland's museum of design. The Luminary No.1 is a shining example of collaboration, uniting talents of architects, Kengo Kuma and Maurizio Mucciola, and Dalmore's whisky experts, Richard Paterson OBE and Gregg Glass.
The 15 year old edition was matured in white oak American casks and finished in both Amarone wine casks and custom made "Kintsugi" casks. These casks were hybrid casks comprised of wood staves of Scottish Tay Oak, Japanese Mizunara Oak and American White Oak.
The Luminary No1, limited to a global release of 15,000 bottles, showcases Dalmore's dedication to exclusivity. Its unique crafting process and scarce availability make it a compelling option for whisky collectors and investors.
Dalmore
Alexander Mathieson established Dalmore Distillery in 1839 on the northern shore of the Cromarty Firth near Alness in Scotland's Highland whisky region. The stills at Dalmore are unique, the wash stills have flat tops and water jackets encircle the necks of the four spirit stills. In addition to the official distillery range that includes the Dalmore 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old and 18 Year Old, this whisky is also released by independent bottlers as single casks.
