Description

Macallan's A Night on Earth - The Journey is a limited edition single malt whisky, released in 2023 as part of Macallan's seasonal release series. Bottled at 43.0%, this edition commemorates Hogmanay 2023. The whisky is matured in a mix of first-fill American ex-bourbon barrels and European and American oak sherry casks, contributing to its balanced flavour profile.

In collaboration with Chinese mixed-media artist Nini Sum, the bottle and packaging feature artwork inspired by the festive season and Sum's personal New Year memories. The multi-layered packaging design represents a journey, with visual elements suggesting the transition from city to home and the passage from day to night. The interior of the gift box is designed with yellow and orange tones, evoking the warmth of lantern light.

Macallan

Macallan Single Malt is a well sought-after whisky by collectors and connoisseurs alike. Old, rare and limited-edition bottlings of Macallan regularly achieve top prices at auctions.

The Macallan Distillery is a renowned single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Craigellachie, Moray, in the north-east of Scotland. Established in 1824, The Macallan has a rich history and is known for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The distillery is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which acquired the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.

The Macallan Distillery is situated on the picturesque Easter Elchies estate, which spans 485 acres. The distillery's unique location and traditional methods contribute to the distinctive character of its whiskies. The Macallan is famous for its use of high-quality oak casks, which are sourced from Spain and the United States. These casks play a crucial role in the maturation process, imparting rich flavours and aromas to the whisky.

In 2018, The Macallan opened a state-of-the-art distillery and visitor center, designed to offer an immersive experience for whisky enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the distillery, learn about the whisky-making process, and sample some of The Macallan's finest expressions. The Macallan Bar and Boutique provide additional opportunities to enjoy and purchase exclusive whiskies and related products.
