Lochlea Sowing Edition (Third Crop)
Description
Lochlea seasonal small batch releases showcase the signature Lochlea style in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in with exactly what is happening at Lochlea at that time of year.
In this Sowing Edition (Third Crop) for 2024 - the first in a new set of four limited editions - Lochlea have used 100% fresh 1st-fill ex-Bourbon Barrels. These casks are 9 months older than those used in Sowing Edition (second Crop), and the difference is incredible! This Whisky really highlights the floral aromatics associated with distilling in winter.
The nose shows almonds, rose petals and white pepper, followed by a huge apple blossom burst on the palate,finishing with some fresh grassy notes and warm straw.
