Description
The Laphroaig Quarter Cask Single Malt is a distinctive Islay whisky, known for its rich and smoky character. This whisky undergoes a unique maturation process where it is initially aged in standard ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred to smaller quarter casks for additional aging. This increased contact with the oak imparts a soft and velvety edge to the whisky, complementing its signature peatiness.
On the nose, you'll find oily and buttery notes with hints of toffee, nuttiness, and hickory. The palate offers an explosion of sweetness, fiery chili heat, and a touch of cola syrup, balanced by the classic Laphroaig peat smoke. The finish is medium-length, becoming fruity with notes of custard and cigar smoke.
