Description
This 10-year-old single malt marks a significant milestone in the history of the distillery: it is Wolfburns first permanent age-statement release. Crafted from spirit fully matured in hand-selected second-fill Oloroso sherry casks, a full decade in Spanish sherry oak has resulted in a delightfully sweet and sumptuous whisky – a fitting testament to the skill, dedication and patience of Wolfburn’s master distillers.
The aroma offers a gentle sherry sweetness intertwined with figs and raisins. A delightful trace of vanilla and oak also emerges. The flavors are rich and deep, with robust chocolate and dark fruits, enhanced by layers of caramel and vanilla, and subtle touches of nutmeg and oak smoke. The finish is smooth, with silky tannins, leaving a lasting sweetness of dried fruits and caramel that persists to the final note.
